Whether she’s reviewing production schedules, managing inventory, or making sure every sales order is spot on, Jackie’s expertise is a game-changer for our team. But it’s not just her skills that make Jackie stand out—it’s also her smile, which brightens even the busiest of days.
Jackie’s adventure in the food industry began when she moved to Australia in 2013 to chase a master’s degree in accounting. After gaining experience in warehousing and logistics, she found her way to Meyer Food Co., bringing her fresh perspective and radiant enthusiasm, and we’ve been better for it ever since.
When she’s not deep into the details of our operations, Jackie’s nose is often buried in a progression fantasy novel—she’s a true bookworm at heart. With two young daughters in the mix, audiobooks have been her saviour. When it comes to cooking, Jackie is all about flavour. Her signature dishes? Swahili pilau and Swahili biryani, though she admits they never quite taste the same as they do back in Mombasa—but she’s determined to keep chasing!
And speaking of chasing, if she could jet off anywhere, Morocco is her dream destination. She’s itching to explore the vibrant markets of Marrakech with her sister and track down some stunning handmade carpets. When her husband cheekily asked where he and the kids fit into this plan, Jackie’s quick response? “At home, waiting for the carpets to be delivered!”
Though hiking and camping are a bit trickier with little ones in tow, Jackie still loves the great outdoors and will get back to those adventures soon. And when it comes to cooking, she’s got a pro tip: always fry the curry powder first for an extra burst of flavour—it’s a step you won’t want to skip.
