On Call, On Hold, On It! Meet Jaymie, our our ever-cheerful Customer Service Manager.

If you’ve ever called Meyer Food Co. and reached someone who sounds like sunshine and calm reassurance, chances are you’ve spoken to Jaymie.

Jaymie started in order entry four years ago and quickly stood out for her warmth and the way she makes people feel heard. With encouragement from mentors like Matt and Alex, she stepped into a leadership role and now helps others grow too.

She’s been with her partner Jesse for six years, and they’re tying the knot next September. Though she’s a keen gardener, she’s leaving the wedding flowers to the pros. Her top gardening tip? Pinch cosmos early to grow bushier plants with more blooms.

Jaymie actually qualified as a paramedic, but after becoming a mum to two daughters and a stepson, she found it tough to see children unwell. When her eldest said she wants to work at “mummy’s work,” it was a proud, full-circle moment.

At home, Jesse is the head chef and Jaymie takes care of dessert. Baking is her creative outlet, especially cupcakes. Her personality in cupcake form? “Vanilla with surprise sprinkles. Simple at first glance, but full of sweet surprises,” says Jesse. Jaymie wasn’t sure whether to be flattered or suspicious.

She’s seen a lot of change at Meyer and loves the family vibe. Her favourite calls? When residents at aged care homes answer the phone “you never know what they’re going to say!” As for babysitters, she says Nadia gives off great mum vibes, but the sales and marketing crew? “No way. They’d teach my kids how to prank me!”

Jaymie grew up camping and fishing around Mudgee, battling her brother for biggest catch bragging rights. One day, she hopes to visit New Zealand’s volcanoes and Europe’s food scene, even if she admits she’s a fussy eater.
